Mini Minor will be developed with Toyota

At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, for the first time the prospect Mini has exhibited a smaller hatchback with Rocketman concept. Four years later, that is, a reputable carrier Mini BMW has seen the possibilities that may be put into the ranks of expenditure, but the latest rumors from Europe say THAT project was finally given the green light.

According to Automobile Magazine, the original Mini is preparing its product portfolio to five milestones: Hardtop seen so far (can be found in two / three and four / five-door), Convertible, Clubman wagon will come (to be launched this summer), Countryman crossover next generation in 2016 and two new models. One of the new model is a version of the roadster concept Superleggera expenditure, is known for sure as a model 2018. The new model is one more is the Mini Minor, a small city trains aimed at reviving the original name of the old model that has been forgotten by Rocketman concept stated above. But for this time, the Mini will not wake him be alone

To develop this mini Mini, BMW will reportedly collaborate with Toyota. The relationship has been established to produce a new Toyota Supra and BMW Z4, share fuel cells and other technologies. But the scope of the partnership may be extended to the development of this small hatchback. However, instead of using the platform of the existing Toyota Aygo (which was built under a joint venture with PSA Peugeot Citroen), said that BMW and Toyota will develop a new platform specifically for this project, a platform that will be used by both companies.

New product plan does not leave much room for the development of the Mini Coupe and Mini Roadster (which has been discontinued), the three-door Mini Countryman crossover (which will suffer the same fate) and seven-seater mini van. But apparently the addition of new roadster Superleggera and Super-mini will not disappoint his fans later.
