The first engine in 2015 Corvette Z06 exploded on mileage 1425km

Imagine that you have been waiting for the arrival of a powerful car you 650 horsepower, Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, on the day which is very encouraging that last fall and you could not wait to drive it, but unfortunately the 6.2-liter V8 engine under the hood you suddenly shattered. All the excitement you feel immediately cease. That is what the owner felt a Z06 that had just received a car of his dreams.

Lawdogg149 owner called the Corvette Forum, said he had been out to try his car before the track events in January when it happens.

"When you move from a speed of 35 miles per hour, I was speeding, and the resulting explosion and the sound of pounding under the hood. I stopped at the side of the road and opened the hood. I have heard loud knocking noise from the cylinder No. 6 along with the sound of iron to iron range of areas supercharger, "said Lawdogg.

After bringing to the distributor, the distributor confirms that the valvetrain No. 6 hers was damaged. As expected, the distributor was not able to make further checks. However, General Motors asked the engine is returned to a more comprehensive assessment. The good news for the unfortunate owner this Z06 (at least), is that GM will fund the cost of engine replacement under warranty, the procedure is estimated to cost nearly $ 24,000 (according to Corvette Forum).

At this point, there are two main theories behind the engine explosion involving a manufacturing defect - which is why GM is so keen to see the engine, - or mistakes in the Lawdogg. According to Motor Authority, simple mistakes like this Z06 owners may mistakenly get into first gear (which is supposed to use third gear) when accelerating from 35 mph are possible. However, if there is a problem of making the Z06's engine, most likely this is not the only case that we will hear in the next few months.
