BMW 5 Series - 3-cylinder engine and 600HP M5
According to a report released, the new generation BMW 5 Series were given the code name G30, sedan model that will come in the second quarter of next year will use a new platform that is less 120kg with the use of high-strength steel, aluminum and carbon fiber. This new platform called CLARÄ‚ which is the short name for the Cluster Architecture will produce new 6 Series and 5 Series Grand Turismo model and Touring. There are also rumors saying this platform will be used in the upcoming 7 Series.
In the engine room, it will be powered by a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbodiesel for entry 518d. This is the same engine used in model 2 Series Active Tourer and Mini Cooper D. Model 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 272hp petrol used in the 528i model, and also possibly a diesel variant. 6-cylinder engine will also be used in the model 530i, 530i, 540i and 550d. For the model is the highest M5 model that is capable of producing 600 horsepower. Varian hybrid and plug-in hybrid is also being planned.
Expected new 5 Series model will be revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, or maybe next year at Auto China in Beijing.
