Toyota Remain World's Largest Producer, 10.23 Million Units Sold in 2014
Earlier we posted news that BMW is the number one producer of luxury car category. However, Toyota Motor Corporation maintains its position as the largest automotive manufacturer in the world with sales of 10.23 million units in 2014.
This shows an increase of 3% compared to the year 2013 that marked the sale of up to 10 million units for the first time for the manufacturer. Toyota also expects sales for 2015 will be reduced by 1% due to declining demand for the Japanese market and also worldwide.
Among the factors that affect sales this year was the decline in crude oil prices indirectly reducing demand for hybrid cars.
Volkswagen Group came in second with 14.10 million unit sales, which indicates an increase of 4.2% of their sales. General Motors took third place with an increase of 2%, which gives the number of units sold 9.92 million.
