Hyundai Sonata PHEV Can Go Up To 2.53 liters / 100km


Hyundai has made its first appearance in 2016 Sonata model newest Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) at the 2015 North American International Auto Show taking place now.

The external part is not much change but it look more stylish and more aerodynamic bumper and fender including a more attractive and more stylish front grille. Part front lights are also given a twist and this variant comes with a more stylish rims and some extra chrome finish of the body part.

Sonata PHEV use components that are more or less the same with Sonata Hybrid model except it is coupled with a 9.8kWh lithium polymer battery pack that can move the car as far as 35km in electric mode only. Powerful 50kW electric motor is used and it is combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Engine 2.0-liter Nu four-cylinder GDI 154HP used in cars where the electric motor will help reduce the load on the engine. The combination of this engine with 50kW electric motor generates 202HP whole. In terms of fuel economy, the Sonata PHEV is able to go until 2:53 liters / 100km.

PHEV 2016 Sonata comes with 7 airbags. Safety technology also includes Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Traction Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning. Blind Spot Detection system and rear view camera comes standard. Projector headlights are also standard HID headlights and offered as an optional extra.
